Name Todd RoethAbout I photograph musicians away from the stage and try to show others how I see them; as makers of something special. My personal site is www.greenappleslingshot.com, and I ramble on like a nightfox. “A photograph by Todd Roeth is instantly recognizable among a growing number of music fans... From capturing local Colorado luminaries like Nathaniel Rateliff and Gregory Alan Isakov, to photo shoots with nationally known artists like Mason Jennings and The Handsome Furs, Roeth intuitively uses the camera as an unflinching eye to penetrate the veneer between the music fan and the musicians themselves.” Exhibits Denver Music Summit - Curtis Hotel, Denver Colorado 2010 Setlist, Music Portraiture by Todd Roeth - Visions Gallery, Ventura California, 2010 Denver Underground Music Showcase - Sputnik, Denver Colorado, 2009 I am also a brother, a son, a taxpayer, a breakfast burrito eater and a photographer. I have spent several years in education, on both sides of the desk. I have taught at Brooks Institute of Photography, and as an Assistant Professor of Fine Art at Marietta College. I left academia to teach myself more about the things I care about. I have come to the hard earned conclusion that is the only way to learn. And the only way to fail. The images here are some of my personal work and music portraiture projects. I hope you dig. Please contact me for assignments, appointments, and usage inquiries. Special thanks to my friends Heather Browne, Julio Enrquiez, and Erin Barnes, and everybody else who supports my work and opens back doors for me. |
